Jaime Xenos Cardriche was a black American character actor, college football player, college basketball player and professional wrestler. Best known for his portrayal of the brilliant gentle giant Tim on UPN's "Malcolm and Eddie."
He was born in Savannah, Georgia and grew up in Cerritos, California. He attended Oklahoma State University where he played both football and basketball. He was also a professional wrestler, known as the "Harlem Warlord" in the Pacific Wrestling Alliance.
When Cardriche showed up in Stillwater, Oklahoma in 1986, he was so massive (6-foot-9, 395lbs) that he stood out even among hulking bodies on the Oklahoma State football team. Cardriche stood taller than his teacher as a first-grader and was 6-foot-5 and 265lbs by eighth grade. His shoe size was size 18.
Cardriche broke into the acting world when a casting director discovered him while working out in a local gym.
Cardriche, who starred opposite Tony Danza in Disney telepic "The Garbage Picking, Field Goal Kicking, Philadelphia Phenomenon," also had recurring roles on sitcoms such as Family Matters, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, A Different World, Malcolm & Eddie, Who's the Boss?, The Wayans Bros., Renegad and Hangin' with Mr. Cooper to name a few. His last acting appearance was in the episode "A Simple Plan" on the sitcom The Parkers.
Sadly, Cardriche died on July 28, 2000 from complications during gall bladder surgery at the age of 32. He is buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cypress.
