Alexander Romanov was the secondary antagonist of Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2, serving as the main antagonist in the Allied perspective and the tritagonist in the Soviet perspective. He is the anti-villain of Command & Conquer: Yuri's Revenge, in the Allied campaign of Yuri's Revenge.
He was a distant relative of Nicholas II and a staunch supporter of Communism. He became the Premier of the Soviet Union after Joseph Stalin's defeat and death in the aftermath of the Second World War with the Allies. Publicly an advocate for peace, but in reality, vowed revenge for the humiliating his motherland received and planned to invade the United States, thus starting the Third World War. During his campaign he was accompanied by Yuri as his chief advisor but would eventually manipulate him and betray him. In the second iteration of World War III, he agreed on a peace treaty with the Allies, upon realizing that Yuri poses a serious threat to the world.
