After dealing with threats from the Justice League, Diana returns to focus on her duties as a representative of Paradise Island. However, she is haunted by a dream where she receives a visit from Hecate, who informs her that the sorceress Circe has allied herself with the god Ares to unleash his fury against the gods, in exchange for him giving her power to take revenge. With this, Wonder Woman travels the world to stop Circe, but she doesn't go alone. Accompanying her are Argus agent Steve Trevor and Donna Troy, a young orphan and Wonder Woman fan whom Diana saved from an orphanage fire, who secretly joined them. Meanwhile, Diana and Steve grow closer. Will Wonder Woman be able to stop Ares' rise, and what are Circe's true motivations?
