Ego the Living Planet is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. He is also a major antagonist of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He is the main antagonist of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Like his name suggests, he is a sentient planet with terraforming abilities, who desires to expand himself over the entire universe, which would mean the destruction of not only all life and everything, but the entire universe within it. He later gets killed and erased from the existence by Star-Lord, Rocket, and Groot when they place a bomb into his brain core to destroy it causes the planet to disintegrates. The character first appeared in Thor #132 (September 1966) and was created by writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby.
