Brady James Monson CorbetΒ (/kΙΛrΛbeΙͺ/;Β born August 17, 1988) is an American writer-director and former actor. Corbet started his career acting in films such asΒ Thirteen,Β Mysterious Skin,Β Funny Games,Β Martha Marcy May Marlene,Β Melancholia, andΒ Clouds of Sils Maria. He also acted in theΒ fifth season of the Fox seriesΒ 24 and theΒ HBOΒ miniseriesΒ Olive Kitteridge.
Corbet made his film directorial debut withΒ The Childhood of a Leader. He has since directed the musical dramaΒ Vox Lux and the period epicΒ The Brutalist, for which he won theΒ Silver LionΒ at theΒ 81st Venice International Film Festival,Β Best DirectorΒ at theΒ 82nd Golden Globe Awards,Β and receivedΒ Academy AwardΒ nominations forΒ Best DirectorΒ andΒ Best Original Screenplay.
