Felicity Rose Hadley Jonesย (born 17 October 1983) is an English actress. She began her professional acting career as a child, appearing inย The Treasure Seekersย (1996) at age 12. She went on to playย Ethel Hallowย for one series of the television seriesย The Worst Witchย (1998). In 2008, she appeared in theย Donmar Warehouseย production ofย The Chalk Garden.
Since 2006, Jones has appeared in the filmsย Northanger Abbeyย (2007),ย Brideshead Revisitedย (2008),ย Chรฉriย (2009),ย The Tempestย (2010),ย The Amazing Spider-Man 2(2014), andย True Storyย (2015). She received praise for her performances in the romantic dramaย Like Crazyย (2011) and the biopicย The Theory of Everythingย (2014). Her portrayal ofย Jane Hawkingย in the latter earned her nominations for theย BAFTAย andย the Academy Award for Best Actress.
In 2016, Jones starred in the thrillerย Inferno, the fantasy dramaย A Monster Calls, and the space operaย Rogue One: A Star Wars Storyย asย Jyn Erso.ย She has since portrayedย Ruth Bader Ginsburgย in the biopic On the Basis of Sexย (2018). She has starred in the streaming filmsย The Aeronautsย (2019),ย The Midnight Skyย (2020) andย The Last Letter from Your Loverย (2021), as well as the period dramaย The Brutalistย (2024), which earned her a nomination for theย Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
