For my pitch for this sequel, it would take place after the events of Justice League (Zack Snyder’s, not Joss Whedon’s). Clark is once more Superman, and people seem happy to see him. Out of nowhere, Clark would meet with his cousin, Kara, and learn of Brainiac. So it’s up to the two kryptonians, including Martian Manhunter to stop Brainiac before it’s too late.
