The Whisperer in Darkness
In the remote mountains of Vermont, a rational professor of folklore receives a series of cryptic letters from a reclusive scholar claiming to possess evidence of inhuman creatures dwelling in the dark forests. Skeptical yet intrigued, he embarks on a dangerous investigation that pulls him deeper into a nightmare of cosmic horror. As he uncovers disturbing truths about ancient beings and their influence over humanity, the professor realizes that some knowledge comes at an unbearable cost. Isolated in the wilderness, hunted by forces beyond comprehension, he must confront the terrifying reality that the world harbors secrets far stranger and more sinister than reason can explain. His descent into madness becomes inevitable as the line between sanity and unspeakable truth collapses entirely.
The Case of Charles Dexter Ward
The novel, set in 1928, describes how Charles Dexter Ward becomes obsessed with his distant ancestor, Joseph Curwen, an alleged wizard with unsavory habits. Ward physically resembles Curwen, and he attempts to duplicate his ancestor's Qabalistic and alchemical feats. He eventually uses this knowledge to physically resurrect Curwen. Ward's doctor, Marinus Bicknell Willett, investigates Ward's activities and is horrified by what he finds.
Shores of Tripoli
"The first American war overseas. A captured ship. Hostages. A desperate mission across the desert. The battle that created the Marines' legend." When Thomas Jefferson became president in 1801, America was deeply in debt, with its economy and dignity under attack. Pirates from North Africa’s Barbary Coast routinely captured American merchant ships and held the sailors as slaves, demanding ransom and tribute payments far beyond what the new country could afford. For fifteen years, America had tried to work with the four Muslim powers (Tripoli, Tunis, Algiers, and Morocco) driving the piracy, but negotiation proved impossible. Realizing it was time to stand up to the intimidation, Jefferson decided to move beyond diplomacy. He sent the U.S. Navy and Marines to blockade Tripoli—launching the Barbary Wars Co-leads of Thomas Jefferson, Stephen Decatur, and Willian Eaton.
Sir Gawain and the Green Knight
In the fading glow of Camelot, the young and uncertain Sir Gawain accepts a supernatural challenge from the mysterious Green Knight — a bargain that will demand he answer for his courage one year hence. As Gawain journeys through plague-ridden villages, frozen monasteries, haunted forests, and pagan halls, the songs of the realm begin to follow him: whispered prayers, tavern ballads, ritual chants, and melodies that seem older than memory itself. What begins as a quest for honor slowly becomes a confrontation with fear, desire, mortality, and the stories men tell about themselves to survive. Ballad of the Green Chapel is “A mythic medieval drama with integrated musical elements.” Blending folk tradition, dreamlike fantasy, and haunting emotional balladry, the film reimagines the Arthurian legend as a lyrical descent into manhood, myth, and death. Swamp Thing: Arcane (2028)
Calbraith Rodgers has now been Swamp Thing for a while. He misses being human greatly but knows there is nothing he can do about it. That is until he meets a scientist by the name of Anton Arcane. (I wrote this a while ago, before I learned Will Poulter was cast in GOTG Vol 3)
Swamp Thing (2026)
Calbraith A. H. Rodgers was born in England in 1920. He enlisted in the Royal Air Force to try and escape the pull of the Green. However, on May 3, 1942, on his fourth mission as a pilot during the war, his plane was shot down and burst into flames. Landing in a swamp, the dying Rodgers felt the branches and petals reaching for him, delivering him to his new life as the protector of the Green. By fusing the man with the Green in the final moments of his life, the Swamp Thing was created. He is sent by the Parliament of Trees to defeat Solomon Grundy, a failed Swamp Thing. (I wrote this a while ago, before I learned Will Poulter was cast in GOTG Vol 3) (Swamp Things needs an anchor to humanity. Not necessarily a love interest.)
