How to Have Sex
How to Have Sex follows Miriam, a shy and anxious eighteen-year-old on her first holiday away from home, as she navigates the chaotic landscape of modern teenage sexuality and self-discovery. Arriving at a sun-soaked Mediterranean resort with her best friends, Miriam finds herself caught between the pressure to conform to her peers' expectations of what a carefree summer should entail and her own genuine desires and boundaries. As her friends pursue romantic and sexual encounters with casual abandon, Miriam grapples with insecurity, social anxiety, and the gap between fantasy and reality. The film captures the messy, often awkward, and deeply human experience of young adulthood—exploring themes of consent, female agency, friendship dynamics, and the search for authentic connection in an era of social media performance. Through intimate character moments and honest dialogue, the story examines how young women negotiate their sexuality, autonomy, and identity while confronting societal expectations and their own internal conflicts. Miriam's journey becomes a tender, sometimes humorous, and ultimately empowering exploration of what it truly means to grow up and claim agency over one's own body and choices.
