Robert Brydon JonesΒ is a Welsh actor, comedian, impressionist, presenter, singer and writer. He gained prominence for his roles in film, television and radio. He was appointedΒ Member of the Order of the British EmpireΒ (MBE) inΒ Queen Elizabeth II's Birthday Honours in 2013 for services to comedy and broadcasting and charitable services.
Brydon gained fame for his roles in the black comedy seriesΒ Human RemainsΒ (2000), theΒ mockumentaryΒ seriesΒ Marion and GeoffΒ (2000β2003), the chat show spoofΒ The Keith Barret Show (2004β2005), and the comedy seriesΒ Supernova (2005β2006). From 2007 to 2024, he playedΒ Bryn WestΒ in theΒ BBCΒ sitcomΒ Gavin & Stacey,Β for which he received aΒ BAFTA AwardΒ nomination for Best Comedy Performance.
He has acted in several films withΒ Steve CooganΒ for directorΒ Michael Winterbottom, starting withΒ 24 Hour Party PeopleΒ (2002) andΒ A Cock and Bull StoryΒ (2005). Brydon and Coogan then starred inΒ The TripΒ (2010), followed byΒ The Trip to ItalyΒ (2014),Β The Trip to SpainΒ (2017), andΒ The Trip to GreeceΒ (2020). Since 2009, Brydon has presented theΒ BBC One comedy panel showΒ Would I Lie to You?Β after previously playing himself as host of a fictional panel show inΒ Rob Brydon's Annually Retentive, which ran onΒ BBC ThreeΒ from 2006 until 2007. In addition to presenting his late-night chat show,Β The Rob Brydon Show, for two years, he hosted the 2014 Saturday-night game showΒ The Guess ListΒ forΒ BBC One.
