Brian Theodore TylerΒ (born May 8, 1972) is an American composer, conductor, arranger, multi-instrumentalist and musician best known for his film, television, and video game scores. In his 26-year career, Tyler has scored seven instalments of theΒ Fast & FuriousΒ franchise,Β Aliens vs Predator: Requiem,Β Rambo,Β Eagle Eye,Β The Expendables trilogy,Β Iron Man 3,Β Now You See Me,Β Avengers: Age of UltronΒ alongsideΒ Danny Elfman,Β Crazy Rich AsiansΒ andΒ Β The Super Mario Bros. MovieΒ among others. He also composed and re-arranged the current fanfare of theΒ Universal PicturesΒ logo, composed initially byΒ Jerry Goldsmith, for Universal Pictures' 100th anniversary, which debuted withΒ The LoraxΒ (2012), and composed the 2013β2016Β Marvel StudiosΒ logo, which debuted withΒ Thor: The Dark WorldΒ (2013), which he also composed the film's score. He composed theΒ NFL Sunday Countdown ThemeΒ forΒ ESPN, theΒ Formula OneΒ theme (also used inΒ Formula 2Β andΒ Formula 3), and the anthem for theΒ Esports World Cup. He is also behind the soundtracks of many television series, includingΒ Yellowstone,Β 1883, andΒ 1923, all with Breton Vivian. For his work as a film composer, he won theΒ IFMCA AwardsΒ 2014 Composer of the Year.
His composition for the filmΒ Last CallΒ earned him the first of three Emmy nominations, a gold record, and induction into the music branch of theΒ Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. As of November 2017, his films have grossed $12 billion worldwide, putting him in the top 10 highest-grossing film composers of all time.
