Even though she's a little child, Mei Li is royalty. Of course the kind of royalty she has is that of a spoiled, overly demanding, bratty little girl. Po tries to entertain her since she's a kid, but to no avail. Po, Tigress, and Mantis were hired to go on a peace mission with her to the Qidan, and they are blamed by the Princess for their supplies being raided by bandits. Po eventually snaps and scolds her, "I don't care how much royal highness you are. You are mean, rotten, bossy, bratty, and no one likes you!" This causes Mei Li to cry, since she's a child. Later that night, Po and Mei Li make amends and become friends. Upon arriving at the Qidan, Po finds out that Mei Li is being brought there to live a life of servitude. Po wouldn't tolerate that and challenges Master Temutai to a battle for Mei Li's freedom.
