The film stars Keith David, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Josh Brolin, Meagan Good, Lauren Holly, Johnny Depp, and Tom Hiddleston. A ghost from Golden Freddy's (David) past occurs when Springtrap (Hiddleston) returns from death. Aided by Toy Chica (Olsen), Bonnie (Bettany), Freddy (Brolin), Chica (Good) and Foxy (Depp), he plans to stop Springtrap. Zajcu37's Five Nights At Freddy's premiered at the 79th Venice International Film Festival on December 12th, 2022, and was released 4 days later; following a strong debut that set numerous box-office records, it grossed just over $1 billion worldwide. The film's success made it one of Singer's highest-grossing films of all time. It received critical acclaim, especially for the performances of David and Olsen, Singer's direction, the action scenes, the emotional weight of the story, and its realistic use of visual effects. The film's success allowed Singer to develop two planned sequels, and the first sequel is in development.
