As he relentlessly pursues them, the Z Fighters find themselves in a race against time to prevent Cell from achieving his ultimate power, Goku and the other Z Fighters train intensely in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, pushing their limits to prepare for the coming showdown. Vegeta and Trunks emerge stronger, determined to stop Cell, Despite their efforts, Cell manages to absorb the androids, becoming the nearly invincible Perfect Cell. He then announces the Cell Games, a martial arts tournament where Earth's fate will be decided.
