From the year 3016, a young Nathaniel Richards came to the present to warn the Avengers of a coming threat, his future self, Kang the Conqueror, when he met Kang himself and realized the terrible crimes he would commit. Only, when he came to the present, after the defeat of Thanos and the death of Tony Stark, The Avengers had already been disbanded and Nathaniel could no longer travel again due to a flaw in his suit, which had a time machine built into it, so he infiltrates Stark Industries and here he manages to acquire a database of exceptional people who could potentially become members of the Avengers at some point in the future. Using the database, he gradually finds a few young people with exceptional abilities or skills, and together with them he starts a team named the Young Avengers. Nathaniel, as Iron Lad, becomes their leader. The team thrives at first and gradually expands its ranks. But then their worst enemy, Kang the Conqueror himself, appears on the scene. The plot of Young Avengers has to reflect developments in the MCU, so it's only logical that the story can only be inspired by the comics.
