Jean Grey brought back to life and then doing a face heel turn after being brainwashed by Jason Wyngarde (though in the treatment, it was Emma Frost), thus becoming the destructible Phoenix. Soon, Jean realises what she has done to her teammates, including her long-time boyfriend Scott Summers aka Cyclops, which results her sacrificing herself.
