Austin Robert Butler (born August 17, 1991) is an American actor. Butler began his career on television, first in roles on Disney Channel and Nickelodeon, most notably on Zoey 101 (2007–2008), and later on teen dramas, including recurring parts on The CW's Life Unexpected (2010–2011) and Switched at Birth (2011–2012). He gained recognition for starring in The Carrie Diaries (2013–2014) and The Shannara Chronicles (2016–2017). Butler made his Broadway debut in the 2018 revival of The Iceman Cometh and portrayed Tex Watson in Quentin Tarantino's film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019). Butler gained wider prominence for his portrayal of Elvis Presley in Baz Luhrmann's Elvis (2022), for which he won the Golden Globe and BAFTA Award and was also nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor. Time magazine named him one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2023. He has since starred as Gale Cleven in the war drama miniseries Masters of the Air (2024) and Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen in the science fiction film Dune: Part Two (2024). As the newly forged Sentinels deploy, the X-Men mobilize to prevent the total eradication of mutant life. The team, reinforced by Wolverine, Colossus, and Gambit, launches an all-out assault against the robotic legions. Through sheer tactical skill and raw power, the heroes manage to dismantle the Sentinel threat, breaking through the metallic defense lines to finally corner Trask.The victory swiftly shifts into a tense ideological confrontation at the core of the X-Men. Cyclops commands Logan to stand down and prepare Trask for transfer, intending to hand over evidence of mass murder to S.H.I.E.L.D. to ensure a legal trial. Appalled by Trask's atrocities, Wolverine takes matters into his own hands and executes the villain on the spot. This unilateral execution infuriates Cyclops, who fears such ruthless tactics will permanently ruin the X-Men's public image and equate them with the villainous Brotherhood of Mutants. He fiercely reminds Logan that he cannot make major team decisions autonomously. Wolverine remains unrepentant, firing back that a monster responsible for killing hundreds of mutants does not deserve to live. This quiet, philosophical fracture highlights the growing emotional distance and opposing moral compasses of the team's two most prominent leaders, permanently altering the dynamic of the X-Men.
