After Magneto's appearance, the world begins to acknowledge the existence of mutants. However, far from bringing acceptance, it brings fear through the media, politics, and especially on the streets, with panic and fear taking over reason. Mutants become targets of hatred and distrust, and even heroes like the X-Men suffer the consequences. Considering the government's measures too slow, Senator Kelly secretly seeks out Bolivar Trask to implement Project Sentinel: machines created under the pretext of locating mutants and protecting humans, but which in reality reveal themselves to be weapons designed to neutralize any mutant. Now hunted, the X-Men must fight to survive. Meanwhile, their personal lives become complicated. Hank undergoes a second mutation, making the codename Beast even more literal. Scott and Jean deepen their relationship, but face obstacles. Faced with increasing persecution, Wendy begins to question whether Magneto was really wrong, a conflict that intensifies when she discovers her father's involvement in Project Sentinel. Bobby, meanwhile, grapples with the revelation that an old friend is a mutant, sparking a rivalry. At the same time, Xavier and Ororo are approached by the Hellfire Club: Sebastian Shaw and Mystique invite them to join a select group of mutants willing to decide the future of their race. The world has changed, lines have been drawn, and sides chosen. Even so, the X-Men remain steadfast, fighting for their dream.
