The X-Men have won their battle against Magneto, and everything seems to be peaceful. That is, until Jean Grey starts to have visions of a cosmic entity called the Phoenix. As she begins a descent into madness, it's up to the other X-Men to band together and save Jean from the Phoenix before it burns the universe to a crisp.
