Charles Xavier has created a school where young mutants can learn to control their abilities and discover that they do not have to fear the world around them. His first X-Men team consists of Cyclops, Jean Grey, Beast, Angel and Iceman, five young mutants Xavier believes can become symbols of a better future. When a mysterious mutant named Wolverine arrives at the school, Xavier offers him a place on the team. Logan is reluctant to trust anyone, but the possibility of understanding his lost memories convinces him to stay. Xavier’s greatest challenge, however, is not another mutant—it is his former friend Erik Lehnsherr, now known as Magneto. Convinced that humanity will eventually destroy or enslave mutantkind, Erik has begun searching for other mutants who share his fears, including Toad and Mastermind. Among those he has found are two young siblings, Wanda and Pietro Maximoff, whom Erik has taken under his protection. Xavier believes he can convince them that humans and mutants can coexist and tries to bring them to his side, while Erik sees them as proof that mutants must learn to protect themselves. As tensions between humans and mutants grow, Xavier and Magneto are forced into a confrontation that tests their opposing philosophies. The X-Men fight to prevent Erik from turning fear into war, while Xavier tries to save the mutants caught between them. By the end, Magneto escapes, Wanda and Pietro remain uncertain about where they belong, and Wolverine chooses to stay at Xavier’s school. The X-Men are no longer simply students—they have become a family. Post credit: Alone in the school, Jean Grey attempts to understand the strange power growing inside her. As she concentrates, objects around the room begin to move without her touching them. For a brief moment, something far more powerful seems to awaken within her mind.
