Gareth James Edwards (born 13 July 1975) is a British film director and screenwriter. He gained recognition for Monsters (2010), an independent film in which he served as writer, director, cinematographer, and visual effects artist. He subsequently directed the big-budget adventure film Godzilla (2014) and the science fiction films Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016), The Creator (2023), and Jurassic World Rebirth (2025). When Professor X learns that there is are mutants disappearing, he recruits a new team of mutants to rescue the original X-Men who had disappeared during a mission in the island of Krakoa to help find the missing mutants. When the original X-Men got rescued from the giant mutant island, they realize that Jean Grey is not with them but Cyclops thinks she’s kidnapped. Once they detected the location of where the missing mutants are, they discover an underground lab and find a prison where mutants are held captive. One of the mutants tell the X-Men that they were captured by Mister Sinister and his true intention was to experiment on captured mutants to create a genetically superior mutant. The X-Men then find Jean Grey who was revealed to be captured as well and rescues her along with the other captive mutants. As the X-Men escape, Sinister’s underground lab collapses. But as they got out, they face Magneto and his brotherhood of mutants. Meanwhile, Bolivar Trask activates his army of robots, The Sentinels to hunt down the X-Men. When the X-Men realize that the Sentinels can wipe out all of mutant-kind, they have the deactivate them before mutants are no more…
