Jason Isaacs (born 6 June 1963) is an English actor. He is best known for his portrayal of Colonel William Tavington in The Patriot (2000), Michael D. Steele in Black Hawk Down (2001), Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter franchise series (2002–2011), Captain Hook in Peter Pan (2003), James Wolfe in Battle of the Brave (2004), Antonio Pérez in The Escorial Conspiracy (2007), Georgy Zhukov in The Death of Stalin (2017), and John Godfrey in Operation Mincemeat (2021). His television roles include Dr. Hunter Aloysius "Hap" Percy in the Netflix supernatural mystery drama streaming series The OA (2016–2019) and Captain Gabriel Lorca in Star Trek: Discovery (2017–2018). His voice acting roles include Admiral Zhao in the first season of Avatar: The Last Airbender (2005) and the second season of The Legend of Korra (2013), and the Grand Inquisitor/Sentinel in Star Wars Rebels (2014–2016). Isaacs has appeared on stage as Louis Ironson in Declan Donnellan's 1992 and 1993 Royal National Theatre premiere of Tony Kushner's Pulitzer Prize-winning play Angels in America: A Gay Fantasia on National Themes and as hitman Ben in a 2007 revival of Harold Pinter's 1957 play The Dumb Waiter at Trafalgar Studios in the West End. Mutants are humans born with a genetic trait that grants them superhuman abilities, they have been around for centuries in hiding. In the present day, Charles Xavier has been training a team of young mutants for years. Scott Summers, Jean Grey, Bobby Drake, Warren Worthington III and Hank McCoy. Xavier taught them how to use their powers and fight as a team just in case it ever was needed. After the recent events with many super-powered individuals like The Avengers, Charles and his lawyer Matt Murdock, get into an agreement with the US government to allow Mutants to come out of hiding. This causes Erik Lehnsherr, an old friend of Charles, to come back to his life now by the name Magneto. He gets to Charles mansion and tries to recruit the team into being part of his revolution, he claims Mutants should rule the earth now that Charles has made them public. The team refuses and Erik sees this as a sign of war, they have a fight, but the team uses their training to come out on top. A few days later Magneto comes back with his Brotherhood of Mutants, people who he recruited a long time ago and agree with his ideals. With more people against them, the team gets very injured and distracted after it is revealed to them that Xavier knew they would fight Magneto one day. Xavier rescues them and heals them, he explains to them they are the first generation of an ideal to have Mutants in peace with Humans. With this in their mind, they concentrate and work as a team to go stop Magneto.
