Rebecca Alie O'Connell (née Romijn/roʊˈmeɪn/ roh-MAYN, Dutch: [roːˈmɛin]; later Romijn-Stamos; born November 6, 1972) is an American actress and former model. She is known for her role as Mystique in the original trilogy (2000–2006) of the X-Men film series, as Joan from The Punisher (2004) (both based on Marvel Comics), the dual roles of Laure Ash and Lily Watts in Femme Fatale (2002), and Una Chin-Riley on Star Trek: Discovery (2019) and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (2022–present). She has also had a recurring role as Alexis Meade on the ABC television series Ugly Betty. Her other major roles include Eve Baird on the TNT series The Librarians, voicing Lois Lane in the DC Animated Movie Universe, and as the host of the reality competition show Skin Wars. X2 (also marketed with the subtitle X-Men United They Stand, and internationally as X-Men 2) is a 2003 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics superhero team the X-Men. Directed by Bryan Singer and written by Michael Dougherty, Dan Harris and David Hayter, from a story by Singer, Hayter and Zak Penn, it is the second installment in the X-Men film series, and it is the sequel to X-Men (2000). It stars an ensemble cast including Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, Halle Berry, Famke Janssen, James Marsden, Taylor Kitsch, Rebecca Romijn-Stamos, Keanu Reeves, Bruce Davison, Aaron Stanford, Kelly Hu and Anna Paquin. The plot shows Mr Sinister, a genius scientist, leading an assault on Professor Xavier's school to build his own version of Xavier's mutant-tracking computer, Cerebro, in order to destroy every mutant on Earth and to save the human race from them, forcing the X-Men to team up with the Brotherhood of Mutants to stop Mr Sinister and save the mutant race.
