Born on May 29, 1995, in Kurgan, Sonya (Sofya) Priss is a rising star of Russian cinema, best known for her breakout role as Alisa in the international hit The Silver Skates (2020). After initially studying in the US at Lewis-Clark State College, she returned to Russia to graduate from the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts in St. Petersburg. Her performance in The Silver Skates—the first Russian film to be released as a Netflix Original—made her a global face, praised for her portrayal of a progressive-minded aristocrat in 19th-century Russia.
