Malefic J'onzz is the brother of J'onn J'onzz and the son of the late M'yrnn J'onzz who allied with the White Martians during the Martian Civil War, betraying his own kind, the Green Martians, and helping kill them. Afterwards, he was imprisoned in the Phantom Zone, but released by the Monitor centuries later to test J'onn. Although Malefic initially acted hostile towards Team Supergirl, he later parted on good terms, reconciling with J'onn.
