Martha Hatter is Sophie's 15 year old sister. It is said that the youngest of three is the one who will make their fortune in life, so Martha was considered blessed by birth. Fanny arranges her to become Mrs. Fairfax's apprentice, but she has no interest in magic and Lettie does so they switch places. She happily works as an apprentice at Cesari's Bakery, and her ambition is to get married and have ten children. She is in a relationship with Michael Fisher and the two are planning to get married after their apprenticeships are finished. She often twiddled her thumbs, and only stops so when she lies.
