Diana Prince is a young woman apart of a tribe of woman known as the Amazons on the mysterious island of Themyscira. Diana has trained her whole life to become a warrior like her mother Hippolyta and is highly known as one of the island’s most skilled and trained young woman. All of a sudden one day a flying aircraft crashes onto the island, their first visitor in centuries. Diana saves the unconscious but still alive man from the burnt up aircraft. The man wakes up scared and confused, but after calming down the man reveals that his name is Captain Steve Trevor and that he is an intelligence operative and officer for the US Army Air Corps. He said he must return to ‘Man’s World’ to fight and win World War II. Hippolyta incredibly moved by Steve’s determination to fight for his people and win the war gives her the idea to hold a contest and see which Amazonian is the most worthy of all the women to return Steve Trevor to Man’s Island and help him fight the war. Diana Prince ultimately wins the contest and she is honoured with her mother’s old armor and uniform. Her mother was known as ‘the Wonder Woman’ and that name will be past on to her daughter. Diana gives her farewells and heads off on a boat to Man’s Island with Steve.
