Following the events of September 11, 2001, the United States initiates the Second Gulf War by falsifying evidence to justify their attack on Iraq. Tom Tresser becomes the new director of Argus after Amanda Waller's appointment as Secretary of Defense. Tresser is tasked with leading a special mission in Iraq, aided by businesswoman Veronica Cale, to enhance American military equipment. While Diana had been dedicating her days to aiding veterans, she is compelled to return to action. The peaceful warrior Wonder Woman, aware of the United States' deception, seeks to prevent them from continuing their asymmetric war. She must confront Argus and the forces of Veronica Cale. The film concludes with Diana disillusioned by the world of men, which continues to descend into conflicts and favors technology over magic. Post G: Circe proposes an alliance to Cheetah to rid themselves of Diana and the Amazons.
