Wonder Woman follows Diana Prince, the Amazon princess and ambassador of peace, as she protects a mysterious young woman named Donna Troy from the powerful witch Circe. After Donna invokes an ancient oath called the Hecatea, Diana is magically bound to protect her. When Diana discovers that Donna has lost her memories and is being hunted by the Olympian gods, she takes her to Themyscira to uncover the truth. There, Donna remembers killing Hercules, and Circe reveals that Donna is actually Troia, a second clay-born champion created by the Titans to stand against the gods if they became tyrannical. When Zeus kidnaps Donna to punish her, Diana reluctantly allies herself with Circe and journeys to Olympus to rescue her. Along the way, Diana struggles to reconcile her belief in compassion with Circe's belief that fear and violence are necessary to change the world. After escaping the Labyrinth with the help of a reformed Minotaur named Ferdinand, Diana reaches Olympus and confronts Zeus. Although Circe attempts to assassinate the king of the gods, Diana ultimately chooses to fight for Donna even after the magical oath releases her from her obligation. With Donna embracing her identity as Troia, the two sisters stand together against Zeus, proving that courage and compassion can challenge even the most powerful tyrant. Zeus finally agrees to end his hunt for Donna, allowing peace to return. However, the god Ares reveals that he secretly manipulated events to encourage conflict, warning Diana that a much greater struggle is approaching.
