Wonder Woman follows Diana Prince, the ambassador of Themyscira, as she tries to bring the Amazon philosophy of compassion and peace into a world filled with violence. After rescuing a mysterious young woman named Donna Troy from the sorceress Circe, Diana invokes an ancient Amazon oath called the Hecatea and becomes bound to protect her. When Donna's strange past begins to unravel, Diana discovers that she is actually Troia, a second clay-born champion created by the Titans to oppose Zeus. Zeus believes Donna is responsible for the death of Hercules and orders her execution, forcing Diana and Circe to form an uneasy alliance to save her. Their journey takes them to Mount Olympus, where Diana is forced to confront Zeus, the Furies, and her own doubts about whether compassion can truly change the world. After escaping the Labyrinth and receiving help from the Minotaur she once spared, Diana refuses Zeus's offer to abandon Donna and chooses to protect her even after the Hecatea is broken. Donna embraces her identity as Troia, and the two sisters stand together against Zeus. Although they cannot defeat him through strength, Diana's unwavering compassion and willingness to suffer for another person finally convince Zeus to end his pursuit of Donna. Three days later, Donna remains with Diana, while the reformed Minotaur becomes the embassy's chef. However, their peace is short-lived when Ares reveals that he secretly manipulated events throughout the story, setting the stage for a larger conflict to come.
