In the aftermath of the League’s first great victory, Diana of Themyscira works alongside her mother Hippolyta, helping restore balance as the world struggles to adapt to the existence of gods and metahumans. Though Diana has embraced her role as a protector of mankind, she remains emotionally divided between Themyscira and the world of men—particularly her bond with Steve Trevor, now working with A.R.G.U.S. scientists Emil Hamilton and Etta Candy to study lingering cosmic phenomena left behind by the recent invasion. Their research leads Steve to uncover an ancient artifact hidden on Earth: a Mother Box, long dormant but tied to primordial forces older than the Amazons themselves. When Steve accidentally becomes the Box’s living conduit, its activation awakens a forgotten enemy, Cheetah, an ancient avatar of chaos who seeks to use the Mother Box to plunge the world into eternal savagery during a rare cosmic alignment. The awakening draws an attack on Themyscira itself. Though Hippolyta survives, the assault leaves the Amazons shaken and forces Diana to confront how deeply the conflict of the world of men now threatens her people. Realizing that Cheetah cannot be stopped by force alone, Diana turns to an uneasy ally: Black Adam, imprisoned since the League’s battle. Adam offers knowledge and power in exchange for freedom, his true loyalties remaining unclear. Diana, Steve, and their allies race across realms, between Themyscira and Earth, as Cheetah’s influence spreads. Black Adam aids them, but his guidance is laced with manipulation, and his actions hint at a larger design beyond Cheetah’s rise. In the final confrontation, set during the cosmic convergence, Diana and Steve work together to sever Cheetah’s bond to the Mother Box, defeating her and preventing the collapse of both worlds. In the aftermath, Diana refuses the temptation of absolute power, choosing instead to protect both Themyscira and humanity without ruling either. Black Adam is supposedly killed in battle. In the aftermath, the Mother Box is entrusted to the Auctioneer for safekeeping, while Adam secretly takes Hyppolyta's place on the throne of Themyscira , setting the stage for the future.
