Vivi Ornitier is a main playable character in Final Fantasy IX. He is a black mage, differentiated from humans by having a black aura surrounding his visible outer skin, glowing yellow eyes, and the ability to cast magic.

Edit by 12/21/23: The ranged classes (Archer, Gunner, Ranger) are so undefined that I've decided to pile them all up in the "Marksman" class.
