While wandering about in the Yukon wilderness, Logan stumbles upon a small rural town, where he shores up in the Durand family farm at the request of the Durand's youngest boy, James. From the Eastwood anti-heroes of Spaghetti westerns, to the gritty philosophy of the neo-western, this story sees Logan resolve not to be defined by a past he regrets but cannot change, and instead forge a path forward towards heroism. While not an outright hero by the end of the story, this is a pivotal step towards his journey towards becoming an X-Man.
