A thousand years ago, Willem Mikaelson is born to Mikael and Esther. When his youngest sibling is killed by the neighboring Werewolves, Willem and his remaining siblings are turned into a new breed of Vampires.
Over the next thousand years, Willem becomes known as Spike and kills several Vampire Slayers over the years, all while avoiding both his father and his siblings.
But then he makes his way to Sunnydale, California where he meets the newest Slayer, Buffy Summers.
