Wicked: The Other Side
Universal Pictures Original Movie
In the magical Land of Oz, two young men—one ostracized for his emerald skin, the other a golden-haired socialite—forge an unlikely friendship at Shiz University. As political intrigue, forbidden love, and the machinations of powerful women threaten to tear them apart, they must choose between the world’s expectations and their own sense of right and wrong. This gender-swapped reimagining of Wicked explores the origins of Oz’s most infamous and celebrated wizards, challenging what it means to be “good” or “wicked.” The film remains set in the Land of Oz, before Dorothy’s arrival, with a lush Art Nouveau-inspired aesthetic: flowing lines, ornate details, and organic forms dominate costumes and sets. The early 20th-century fantasy feel is preserved, with elaborate, whimsical, and colorful designs that evoke a magical yet period-appropriate atmosphere.
