Magpie is a supervillain and enemy to Batman in Gotham City. In her civilian identity she was the curator of Gotham Museum named Margaret Pye. Her life-long obsession with owning beautiful things led her to pursue a life of crime, taking her name from the thieving bird. Tally Man murdered her during Face the Face.
The name is also used by Merg Gaterra in the 30th Century, an enemy to the Legion of Super-Heroes.
Magpie was created by John Byrne, first appearing in The Man of Steel #3 (1986).
