The main story, "What If...The Punisher's Family Had Not Been Killed In Central Park?", was written by Doug Murray and Rik Levins and depicts an alternate reality in which Frank Castle's family was not killed in Central Park. He later became a police officer and encountered corrupt colleagues before collecting evidence against them, leading them to kill his family in an attempt to kill him in his sleep and he subsequently became the Punisher and began targeting his corrupt former colleagues. In the backup story, "What If...the Living Recorder had to Find Work on Earth?", written by Gary Fields and penciled by Rodney Ramos, a person's boombox had broken, so he used the Living Recorder to play his music. In the final two backup stories, "What If...the Thing were an Elvis Presley Impersonator?" and "What If...Hawkeye Used Golf Clubs Instead of A Bow and Arrows?", both written by Steve Ringgenberg and penciled by Rodney Ramos, the Thing is singing "Hound Dog" on a stage and Hawkeye is attacking criminals with a golf club.
