What If Captain America Had Formed the Avengers?

Issue #28 of What If…?, published in 1991, written by George Caragonne, and penciled by Ron Wilson. A continuation of issue #29. After a boat carrying Captain America was sunk, he was frozen in ice and replaced by an impostor, who became president. After being freed from the ice, he formed the Avengers, consisting of Namor, Frank Castle/Iron Man, Logan/The Hulk, Sam Wilson/Giant-Man, and Thor. He had unsuccessfully attempted to recruit Magneto.

Which projects should inspire adaptations of these comics

There have been many reboots of Batman and Superman, although each adaptation is usually unique in its own way. In order to keep adaptations different from each other, as well as different enough from the comics (but of course, keeping things people like about the characters and storylines), which comics, movies (superhero and non-superhero; they can be other superheroes' movies), shows, novels, etc. should inspire an adaptation of a particular character or the comics of a franchise?
