Dan Backslide is a villain who appears in "The Dover Boys". Known as a "coward, bully, cad and thief" and possessing a pale, sickly green complexion, he despises Tom, Dick and Larry (a.k.a. the Dover boys), and kidnaps the boys' wealthy fiancee "Dainty" Dora Stanpipe only for her father's money.
