The Doctor initially travelled with master spy Fey Truscott-Sade, cynical Ice Warrior Hex and Isabelle " Izzy" Sinclair. While Izzy left on amicable terms, both Fey and Hex would wind up dead at the hands of the Cybermen. Even Alex Campbell, his own great-grandson, who became his temporary companion, was exterminated by the Daleks.
