Daniel Thomas "Danny" Rand, also known as Iron Fist, first appeared in Marvel Premiere #15 in 1974 and was created by Roy Thomas, Gil Kane, and Bill Everett. Danny Rand was the son of billionaires Wendell and Heather Rand. He traveled with them to the legendary city of K'un-Lun along with their friend Harold Meachum. Meachum betrayed them by killing Wendell, which resulted in Heather being killed by wolves, leaving Danny orphaned and adopted by the monks from K'un-Lun. When he grew up, he became the Iron Fist; one of the Marvel Universe's best martial artists.
