Chaos was glad to know the Ancients were unknowingly giving him and Mobius 600 years worth of prep time, meaning lots of exploring the planet, meeting new species and people, and evolving in weaponry and technology. But he knows 600 year shouldn’t go to waste so he helped Mobius mobilize its people for the next time the Ancients attack, although he knows nothing of Mephiles. He’s hoping the advanced weaponry, technology, and more soldiers than what the had in centuries could make them win the war in a day. But Chaos knows something nobody does: the moment the war resumes will be the last time Chaos could fight. After all that energy used to make the Chaos Emeralds, fight the Titans, the Ancients, and Black Doom, he’s slowly losing his strength and his power. If the war is over, his strength will be gone. Either they win or lose, Chaos could be weak and maybe die. Every time he uses the Chaos Emeralds, he’s stronger as Perfect Chaos, but after each use he gets weaker and weaker.
