Voltes V: Legacy is a live-action adaptation of the iconic 1977 Japanese anime Chōdenji Machine Voltes V, reimagined by GMA Network for a modern Filipino audience. Set against the backdrop of an alien invasion from the Boazanian empire, the story follows three brothers—Steve, Big Bert, and Little Jon Armstrong—alongside their teammates Jamie Robinson and Mark Gordon, as they pilot the super robot Voltes V to defend Earth. As they battle monstrous Beast Fighters and uncover secrets about their missing father, the team confronts not only external threats but also personal revelations that challenge their unity and resolve. The series blends science fantasy with emotional drama, exploring themes of family, identity, and resistance. With 90 episodes aired from May to September 2023, Voltes V: Legacy became one of the Philippines’ most ambitious television projects, praised for its CGI, nostalgic callbacks, and expanded lore. It also introduced new character dynamics and plot twists while staying true to the spirit of the original anime.
