The series is presented as a retro "Living Meat Research Documentary" created to educate the public about the strange genus called Vita Carnis (Latin for "Living Meat"). All of these creatures originate from a plant/fungus-like organism called the Crawl. As the population of these entities grew explosively, humanity adapted, attempting to coexist with or study them while dodging various lethal threats
