The Poachers are intruders of White Deer Park who shortly appear after The Warden falls ill. They're first known by the Farthing Wood animals after overhearing a gunshot which kills one of the white stags. On that same day in the evening, the approaching poachers threaten the white deer herd. While most of them escape, another stag was shot dead, despite the efforts of Fox to warn them.
