Vicious

Some people are born extraordinary. Others have to die for it.

Victor Vale and Eli Cardale are brilliant college roommates whose fascination with near-death experiences leads them to discover that, under the right conditions, surviving death can produce extraordinary abilities (EOs). Determined to experience the phenomenon themselves, the two friends begin experimenting with the boundaries of life and death. Eli successfully becomes an EO, but Victor's experiment goes terribly wrong, resulting in the death of Eli's girlfriend, Angie. Betrayed by Eli and left to take the blame, Victor is convicted and sent to prison, where his fascination with his former friend slowly transforms into an all-consuming desire for revenge. Ten years later, Eli has reinvented himself as Eli Ever, a charismatic but increasingly fanatical man who believes EOs are no longer truly human. Convinced they are dangerous abominations, he begins a crusade to hunt down and eliminate every extraordinary he can find. Meanwhile, Victor escapes prison with the help of fellow inmate Mitch Turner, determined to settle the score with the man who destroyed his life. As their paths converge, Victor and Eli become locked in a dangerous game of revenge, betrayal, and extraordinary abilities, forcing them to confront the disturbing truth about what they have become.
