First appeared in Venom: Lethal Protector #1 in 1992. In Marvel Comics, Riot is the symbiote of Trevor Cole, a security guard for the Life Foundation. In the 2018 film Venom, Riot is the symbiote of Carlton Drake, rather than Trevor Cole.
