Journalist Eddie Brock is trying to take down Carlton Drake, the notorious and brilliant founder of the Life Foundation. When Drake succeeds in covering himself up, Brock's reputation takes a downfall. Disgraced and suicidal, Brock comes into contact with an alien symbiote, rejected by Spider-Man. The Symbiote bonds with him and they become Venom.
