A local teenager goes missing under bizarre, seemingly supernatural circumstances near the old abandoned mining tunnels beneath Coolsville. Velma discovers a hidden journal left behind by her missing mother, proving she was investigating the exact same urban legend years ago. The four teens are forced into an uneasy alliance. Velma has the brains, Norville has the town records/intel, Daphne has the social access and resources, and Fred has the physical capability and mechanical know-how.
