Gabriel Van Helsing is on a vampire case, lost in the depths of Thailand, which reminds him of a very old story from his childhood, the first time he faced death. In the early 1990s, when Gabriel was a young boy, he was in love with a girl his own age, Anna Valerious, a member of another prominent family of monster hunters.
